I was surprised and delighted to learn yesterday that this blog was named as one of the Family Tree Magazine 40 Best Genealogy Blogs!
I know that selection as one of the 40 Best Genealogy Blogs involved a multistep process: nomination by someone, voting by the public, and finally selection of the top 40.
Maureen Taylor had these kind words to say about this blog:
Steve’s Genealogy Blog
Multitalented, multilingual genealogist Stephen Danko writes primarily about Polish and Lithuanian research, but there’s something here for everyone. Danko “has taken us on his genealogical adventures for several years now and has allowed us to watch his growth as a researcher, all of which has been a service to the community,” wrote one voter. He sets a standard for documentation by posting document images, their translations and source information. He also offers research advice, such as deciphering Latin notations in genealogical documents.
See the entire list at the Genealogy Insider, and congratulations to all the writers whose blogs were selected to be part of the “Fab Forty”.
