The Birth and Baptism of Paul Lather – 1841

On 15 Feb 1841, Paul Lather, son of Balthasar Lather and Elisabetha Margaretha Lather, was born in Kirtorf, Alsfeld Kreis, Hesse-Darmstadt (now Germany). She was baptized in the parish church in Kirtorf, Alsfeld Kreis, Hesse-Darmstadt (now Germany) on 28 Feb 1841.

Paul, Balthasar Lather’s Son

Between four and five o’clock in the morning on February fifteenth in the year of the Lord eighteen-hundred forty-one, after a credible report, the third child and first son was born to Balthasar Lather, citizen and tailor here, and his wife Elisabetha Margaretha née Lather, and on the twenty-eighth of the same month he was baptized and given the name “Paul”.

          The Sponsor was:

          Paul Schí¤fer, citizen and shoemaker here

who has signed the present document next to the father of the child and me the chaplain who conducted the baptism.
