There appeared Teodor Niedziałkowski, a farmer in Golany, forty-four years of age, in the presence of Wiktor Obiedziński, a farmer in Golany, thirty-one years of age, and Franciszek Pałkowski, a peasant from Przasnysz, forty-four years of age and he showed us a child of the male sex, having been born in Golany on the ninth / twenty-first day of the present month at seven o’clock in the evening, of his lawful wife Wiktoria née Długołęcka, thirty-five years of age. – To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this date was given the name Leon, and the Godparents were Wiktor Obiedziński and Katarzyna his wife. This document is double dated: one date represents the Julian Calendar and the second date represents the same date in the Gregorian Calendar. At the time this record was written, the difference between the two calendars was 12 days. The date of birth shows this 12 day difference (9/21 August 1888) but the date of baptism shows a 13 day difference (13/26 Aug 1888). Which of the two dates of baptism is correct is impossible to tell.
