It happened in the village of Gzy on the twenty-fourth day of July at the hour of twelve in the afternoon, one-thousand eight-hundred thirty-first year. There appeared Paweł Wiśniewski, twenty-one years of age, earning a living from day labor in the village of Borze Marcisze, and he showed in the presence of Jan Wiśniewski, twenty-eight years of age, a farmer residing in Żebry Falbogi, and Piotr Szymczak, thirty-one years of age, a farmer residing in Borze Marcisze, a child of the male sex, born in Borze Marcisze on the thirteenth day of the present month at the hour of four in the morning of Rozalia Burski his wife, twenty-eight years of age. To this child at Holy Baptism performed today was given the name Andrzej, and his Godparents were the afore-named Jan Wiśniewski and Rozalia Mieczkowska. This document was read to the declarant and by us signed – The declarant does not know how to write – R[everend] Baltazar Prusiński
Canon of Pułtusk, Vicar of the Parish of Gzy

Andrzej’s father, Paweł, was a day laborer. Unlike his wife, Rozalia Burska, he was not born to a noble family. Since nobility was passed from father to son, none of his children were of noble birth, despite Rozalia’s noble birth.
