B[aptism of] Marguerite Gamache

In the year one-thousand seven-hundred fifteen on 2 December was baptized by me, the undersigned priest –
Marguerite, age three to four days, daughter of Nicolas Gamache and Marie Dion, his wife. The Godfather was Prix [Prisque]Lessard and the Godmother was Marguerite Fortin, who have signed with me according to law . Â Â Â  [signed] LeClair, Pr[iest]
[signed] Prix Lessard
     [signed] Marguerite Fortin

In this record, her parents stated that Marguerite was “three or four days” old at the time of her baptism. Given a baptismal date of 02 Dec 1715, she must have been born on 28-29 Nov 1715. The PRDH, however, gives the date of her birth as 30 Nov 1715, only two days before the baptism.

This record can be found as image 17/149 in the Québec Vital Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 on Ancestry.com as part of the records for L’Islet-sur-mer 1683-1762. The record appears on folio 16 verso (the back of folio 16).
