It's funny you should mention that, Cheryl! People have suggested that I write a book about Polish genealogy. Ceil Jensen just wrote one, however. Her book will be published later this year. If I think I can write a book that won't just duplicate what is already out there, I'll probably do it!

Thanks, Barbara! At one point in the distant past, I considered a career in teaching, but got sidetracked into Biotechnology research instead!

Erik, please let me know how things work out for you. The collection of Niedzborz parish records on microfilm from 1644-1900 is one of the most complete sets of Polish parish records I’ve seen in the FHL catalog. Most Polish parish records only extend back to about 1800. Here’s hoping your ancestors didn’t move around much and that you’ll be able to trace them back to 1644!

Steve, What a great reply and some of your steps could be used for all who are researching an area. I am sure Erik will be delighted to read your response. Is there a future Teaching Polish Genealogy course in your future? I was very impressed with the detail and examples you provided.
