The Iwaniec Family in the 1940 Albany City Directory

My aunt Statia Danko Iwaniec was listed in the 1940 edition of Polk’s Albany (Albany County, N.Y.) City Directory residing at 162 Dove St, Albany, Albany Co., New York, USA with her husband Alfred A. Iwaniec .  Alfred’s mother Catherine M., his sister Frances M., and his brother Joseph J. were also residing in the same household.

    • Alf A. (Alfred A.) Iwaniec, husband of Statia, was working as a sub carrier PO (substitute carrier for the post office) and resided at 162 Dove St
    • Catherine M Iwaniec, Alfred’s mother, was the widow of John Iwaniec and was head of household at 162 Dove St
    • Frances M., sister of Alfred, was working as a telephone operator and resided at 162 Dove St
    • Jos J. (Joseph J.), brother of Alfred, was working as an electrotyper for Quality Electrotype Foundry and resided at 162 Dove

Using Steve Morse’s One-Step Webpages, I learned that the Iwaniec family’s residence at 162 Dove St, Albany, Albany Co., New York, USA was located in enumeration district 63-103 in the 1940 United States Federal Census.
