Chapels in the Montserrat Basilica, Montserrat, Spain

In addition to the famous Black Madonna, the Virgin of Montserrat in the sanctuary of the Mare de Deu de Montserrat, the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat includes side chapels lining the walls on both sides of the basilica .  These include a chapel displaying the Montserrat Pieta by Arimani, a chapel with a painting of the Flight into Egypt by Josep Cusachs, the Chapel of the Holy Christ with a crucifix by Josep Llimona, and the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception designed by Josep M. Pericas.

Steve, do you know anything about the painter, Arimani, who painted the Pieta in the Chapel at the Monastery of Montserrat? I have been searching for a couple of days now, but can’t find anything on that artist. I came across your Blog while trying to find the artist who painted it. My companion also took a photo of it while we were there, and several friends have asked about the artist, but I didn’t know who painted it, until finding it on your blog with that beautiful photo.
